I drew inspiration from my own cultural identity and the history of Stoke miners, to explore the physical strain that mining work can put on the body. Creating a installation through using my body as a physical tool to create printing techniques and casting the movements and positions of miners through body casting. By applying substances like butter and charcoal to my skin, I recreated actions like crawling in confined spaces and studied the resulting marks left behind.
