Paper Sculptures and Installation 2023

Within this work, I confront the societal imposition of harsh judgments upon new mothers, delving deep into the scrutiny they face with every interaction and decision. Through the lens of memory and embodied experiences, I challenge the conventional boundaries that separate these realms, utilising mixed media as my chosen medium. By intertwining diverse materials and techniques, I aim to shed light on the profound love and care mothers provide while also exposing the overshadowing effects of societal pressures on their confidence. My art serves as a dialogue between the tangible and the intangible, the seen and the unseen, urging viewers to embark on a journey of self-reflection and exploration. It is my belief that by recognising and supporting the diverse ways in which mothers nurture their children, we can collectively move towards a more compassionate and understanding society.
